Theatresports, a competitive improv format was created by Keith Johnstone of Calgary with the goal of bringing the energy of a sports match into the theatre. This improv phenomenon has grown exponentially, and today Theatresports is performed throughout the world. Come on down this Friday and see what all the fuss is about!
CHiMPROV is Rapid Fire Theatre’s longform improv comedy show, every Saturday at 10pm at The Citadel Theatre (9828-101 A Ave). You might see an improvised one act play, or a montage of scenes based on a theme, or a non-linear exploration of one character’s life. Whatever it is, it will be artful and likely very funny. Many people ask why the show is called CHiMPROV? Think about apes doing improv. Isn’t that reason enough?
